Fair Peer-to-Peer Content Delivery via Blockchain

چکیده
In comparison with conventional content delivery networks, peer-to-peer (p2p) is promising to save cost and handle high peak-demand, can also complement the decentralized storage networks such as Filecoin. However, reliable p2p requires proper enforcement of fairness, i.e., deliverers should be rewarded according their in-time delivery. Unfortunately, most existing studies on fairness are based non-cooperative game-theoretic assumptions that arguably unrealistic in ad-hoc setting.

On peer-to-peer (P2P) content delivery
In both academia and industry, peer-to-peer (P2P) applications have attracted great attentions. P2P applications such as Napster, Gnutella, FastTrack, BitTorrent, Skype and PPLive, have witnessed tremendous success among the end users. Unlike a client-server based system, peers bring with them serving capacity. Therefore, as the demand of a P2P system grows, the capacity of the network grows, t...
متن کاملExtending an IMS Client with Peer-to-Peer Content Delivery
The increasing demand for mobile applications implies an increase in service availability and content delivery capacities across the networks. Peer-topeer technologies have proven to be able to deliver media in an effective way to the end user. In this paper, we analyze and describe the necessary extensions and functionalities, which are needed to enable Peer-to-peer content delivery in an IMS ...
متن کاملThe Scalability of Swarming Peer-to-Peer Content Delivery
Most web sites are unable to serve content to a large number of users due to the inherent limitations of client-server file transfer. Recent peer-to-peer content delivery protocols have demonstrated the feasibility of spreading this load among the clients themselves, giving small web sites the possibility of serving large audiences with very low cost. In this paper we use a simulation-based per...
متن کاملCopyright-Protected Content Delivery in Open Peer-to-Peer Networks
Open peer-to-peer (P2P) networks are being grossly abused by illegal distribution of copyrighted music, games, video streams, and popular software. These abuses are resulted from lack of proper peer authentication, modifiable file indices, and unauthorized file access in a P2P network. Peer collusion is a major source of illegal sharing of content files among clients and pirates. We propose a n...
متن کاملDOH: A Content Delivery Peer-to-Peer Network
Many SMEs and non-profit organizations suffer when their Web servers become unavailable due to flash crowd effects when their web site becomes popular. One of the solutions to the flash-crowd problem is to place the web site on a scalable CDN (Content Delivery Network) that replicates the content and distributes the load in order to improve its response time. In this paper, we present our appro...
